Standing up for Local People

Potholes Update

Huge thank you to everyone getting in touch with me to give specific examples of roads and pavements that need attention from North Lincolnshire Council.  Thanks to you I have been able to write the letter below to call on the Council to take urgent action to give us the quality of roads and pavements that local people deserve to get for the Council tax they pay.

Once again thank you for your help in this matter.  Our roads and pavements need to be safe places.

"Please pass on everyone’s thanks to the Council workforce for the way they have responded to the difficulties created by the extreme weather of the last week.  This has made a significant difference to people’s lives.

It is often the seemingly little things that make a massive difference to the lives of people living locally.  One of the things of growing concern is the state of the roads and pavements across the patch.  I am particularly concerned about the state of roads and pavements in the Bottesford area which seems to have been rather neglected in recent years.  Here are some specific areas that have been drawn to my attention:

Bottesford area

Enderby Road footpath on the side near Riddings pool running towards Burringham Road

Yaddlethorpe High Street at the junction with Moorwell Road – very potholed!

Bad potholes at the bottom of the Dales

Very bad ruts in the road on High Leys Road opposite Ogilvy Drive junction

Potholes at Stainton Drive junction with Low Leys Road

Potholes at Glanford Road junction with High Leys Road

Very bad, deep potholes on High leys Road near Hammerton Road

Numerous potholes and bald parches on Greengarth

Talisman Drive

Park Avenue

Outside Bottesford

Potholes on Willoughby Road near the shops

Potholes on Ashby Road

Hempdyke Road cul de sac where tarmac was put on old tarmac it’s now dipping in places and in need of further attention

Brookdale Road

Dovedale Road – significant potholes

Manifold Road – very thin, down to stone and gravel

Ings Road going down to Klassic Park in Kirton

Beyond Scunthorpe County Constituency

The state of the 1077 means that drivers swerving to avoid potholes is a danger.  Particular issue issue is the section between Sawcliffe Hill and Roxby

Road between Wressle and Castlethorpe at the double bend near the tea rooms

I would be grateful if each of these matters that have been raised with me can be investigated and appropriate action taken.  It would be very helpful if you could give me feedback on what is being done.

Once again thank you to all the hard working Council employees that are doing all they can to make life better for local people.

Nic"
